Hello Gardeners! After the wonderful rain, the sunshine has appeared and I've noticed the gardens are starting to have a wonderful green hue about them. Every spring it is hard to imagine how the dull brown patches could turn green and lush, but every year it does and it's a spectacular site.
In this post let's have a discussion on natural fertilizers and tips on how to maintain those luscious plants for when the hot summer days really start cooking. Any pointers on how to save some money on expensive garden amenities would also be greatly appreciated. So, all you gardeners out there who have great ideas please share with the rest of us. For example, to help my sad little tomatoes along I'm applying coffee grounds as a fertilizer. If you don't drink coffee find someone who does and have them save theirs for you. I have also heard that Epsom salt is a great thing to use in the garden. Check out this blog for the recipe, greengardenblog.com.

Welcome Gardeners
Welcome to the new blog of our Hyde Park Community Garden. We are really excited about having this space to keep people connected to what is happening in our garden this year. We will be spotlighting different gardeners and their ideas, gardening tips, and wonderful recipes for those basket loads of veggies we all will be harvesting in the coming months. Most importantly we will keep everyone updated on special events that will be held at the garden and news about out little community of gardeners. We welcome comments from everyone to help improve our gardening space so please don't hesitate to post your ideas on the blog.
Also, let your friends know, who might be interested, that there are still some plots left to be claimed. Please contact the Cache County Extension office for information about these spaces. By clicking on the Community Garden icon on the left side of this page you will find the application along with the list of rules and regulations for the garden.
